The Eugene Tolloty Technology Center has been designed to support entrepreneurial efforts with dedicated business incubator space for start-up companies linked to high-tech research and other business enterprises.
Encompassing some 12,000 square feet, the center plans focus on energy efficiency opportunities with LEED certification and excellent use of alternative energy resources and conservation practices. The latest technologies also provide WIFI and fiber connect to a big pipe OC 192 system for robust data, image and research applications.
The grounds surrounding the Tolloty Center — like the rest of the technology park — have a landscape plan that capitalizes on the natural setting with picnic areas, walking trails and relaxing waterscapes. Occupants of the Tolloty Center also will have convenient, nearby access to the science and technology training programs at the nearby campuses of Kent State Tuscarawas and Buckeye Career Center.
The facility is made possible through an Ohio Department of Development Job Ready Sites (JRS) grant, with additional funding for infrastructure development from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Ohio Governor's Office of Appalachia, and additional programs through the Ohio Department of Development.
Local funding has been provided by Tuscarawas County commissioners, the City of New Philadelphia and the Community Improvement Corp. of Tuscarawas County. The CIC will own and operate the Tolloty Center and the Regional Tech Park. CIC offices also are being located in the Tolloty Center.
